The story centers on General John J. Pershing, General of the Armies – the highest rank in the U.S. Army – and the relationship between Barbara's father, CPT Malcolm L. George and the Pershing family. In a nutshell, Barbara's Grandfather, H. John George, and General Pershing were third cousins . . . and both are pictured in the HUGE Pershing Family Reunion picture in the "movie" below. To see a Tribute to CPT Malcolm L. The movie above is a simple pan of the 1923 Persing Family Reunion picture by Eli Pershing.
The artifacts below span a long and distinguished military career.

General Pershing was a product of West Point, Class of 1886. His most famous post was when he served as the Commander of the American Expediciary Forces (AEF) on the Western Front of World War I, 1917 to 1918.

General of the Armies Pershing was appointed to the newly-formed American Battle Monuments Commission (the ABMC) by President Warren G. Harding in 1923, and was elected chairman by the other members - a position he held until his death in 1948.
